Britcar, promoters of several major UK racing events, have agreed a new multi-year partnership with Dunlop.

The new agreement covers the supply of tyres for Britcar’s full portfolio of events including Britain’s top long-distance racing category, the Britcar Endurance Championship for the period 2015 to 2017.

Dunlop will supply its proven range of racing tyres to all competitors in the Endurance Championship as well as its sister championships, the Britcar Sports and Touring Car Championship and Britcar Trophy Series.

The Britcar Endurance Championship boasts an eclectic mix of racing supercars from Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren and Porsche in classes ranging from GT2 (similar to Le Mans specification cars) to the more production orientated GT4 specification, with between three and four hours of racing at a typical event.

The championship races at famous and iconic racing circuits such as Silverstone, Donington and Brands Hatch with occasional overseas races at Grand Prix venues such as Spa Francorchamps.

Jean-Felix Bazelin, Director, Motorsport Operations at Dunlop stated: “Britcar is one of the most popular GT racing championships in Europe. We are delighted that the organisers have chosen to extend a long partnership with Dunlop and we look forward to many more strong seasons of Britcar racing. We have a strong, proven range of GT and Touring car tyres – evidenced by our recent GT successes in winning the 2013 Nurburgring 24 hours and 2012 European Le Mans Series”

James Tucker, Director and Founder of Britcar, addedI have been with Dunlop for 11-12 years and the sales of tyres in that time being around 24000. It needs to be put on record that HP Tyres have fitted every one, thank you Steve,John and their team.

The Silverstone 24hr race in 2009 was the record with 1600plus sold in a Day. The Silverstone 24hr race is back with a provisional date of 9-12th April 2015. I see next year being a record year with GT3/GT4/GTE/GTC/LMPCN/24HR Special classes. We are hoping for a bumper GRID, we are allowed 80, entries will go out to all Endurance Teams round the world, and there is an early bird Entry Fee.

Britcar would like to thank also the Teams who have made this journey with Britcar and its Championships over the years and to Dunlop’s larger than life friend, Gary Wassell – European Sales Manager and his Team. To you James in your New Position and to John- Felix Bazelin, good luck, and Dunlops future is now very secure.”
This is one of a number of new supply agreements signed by Dunlop in recent months. In March, the brand confirmed its renewal of the MSA British Touring Car Championship title sponsorship and tyre supply contract and Dunlop has also been appointed for two new one-marque championships this year, the BMW M235i Cup and Seat Leon Eurocup.
